What do I need for the Romania freelance visa?
The official page asks for: proof you meet the conditions to practise the profession, proof you did similar work in your home country, travel medical insurance for the visa period, criminal record certificate, proof of a home in Romania and social health insurance.
How much money do I need for the Romania freelance visa?
For the residence permit, proof of means of support of at least the average gross monthly wage, for the length of the permit. The page gives no figure.
How long can I stay on the Romania freelance visa?
The long-stay visa lasts 90 days. The page does not say how long the residence permit lasts. Yes. The permit is renewed at least 30 days before the old one ends.
How much does the Romania freelance visa cost?
EUR 300 for the long-stay visa. For the residence permit, a EUR 120 consular fee (paid in lei) plus RON 265 for the card.
Who can apply for the Romania freelance visa?
Open to people from outside the EU, the EEA and Switzerland. Non-EU citizens who practise a profession that a special Romanian law lets foreign citizens practise, such as some liberal professions. They must have done similar work in their home country. Citizens of the EU, the EEA and Switzerland can already live in Romania without this visa.
How do I apply?
Visa at a Romanian embassy or consulate. Then the residence permit at the IGI office in your county, in person or online. IGI decides on a residence permit application within 30 days.
