An assured income of at least USD 24,000 a year that does not come from a job or business. It must come from abroad and be sent to Kenya, or be a pension or annuity paid in Kenya.

The official page does not say how long the permit lasts. The issue fee is charged for each year. Yes. Renewals are made on the same online system.
How much does the Kenya retirement visa cost?
KES 250,000 a year to issue the permit, plus a KES 20,000 processing fee that is not refunded. Citizens of East African Community member states pay nothing.
Who can apply for the Kenya retirement visa?
Open to citizens of any other country. People aged 35 or older with an assured income that does not come from work, who will not work in Kenya.
Can I bring my family?
Dependants of a permit holder can apply for a Dependant's Pass.
How do I apply?
Online on the eFNS portal of the Directorate of Immigration Services. You then take the printed form to Immigration headquarters at Nyayo House, Nairobi, or a regional office.
