What income do I need for the Hungary digital nomad visa?
At least EUR 3,000 net a month for at least 6 months before entry. You must keep this income for the whole stay.
How long can I stay on the Hungary digital nomad visa?
Up to 1 year. Can be extended once for another year. A residence permit can only be extended once for the same purpose.
How much does the Hungary digital nomad visa cost?
EUR 110 for the permit and entry visa when applying at a Hungarian mission. In Hungary the fee is HUF 26,000 online or HUF 39,000 in person. Extension is HUF 26,000.
Who can apply for the Hungary digital nomad visa?
Open to people from outside the EU, the EEA and Switzerland. Non-EEA nationals who work remotely from Hungary for an employer outside Hungary, or who run or own part of a company with verified profit outside Hungary. They must not work in Hungary or own a share in a Hungarian company. Citizens of the EU, the EEA and Switzerland can already live in Hungary without this visa.
Can I bring my family?
Family members cannot get a family reunification permit. A child born in Hungary to a White Card holder during the permit can get one.
Can I work for companies in Hungary?
You cannot work for or on behalf of an employer in Hungary or hold a share in a Hungarian company. The permit is withdrawn if you do.
How do I apply?
At a Hungarian embassy or consulate in the country of your nationality or habitual residence. People from visa-free countries can also apply inside Hungary, online through Enter Hungary or at a regional directorate. 21 days for procedural administration. A decision on the merits within 30 days of submission.
