What income do I need for the Taiwan digital nomad visa?
At least USD 40,000 in one of the last two years if you are 30 or older. At least USD 20,000 if you are 20 to 29. Or proof that you hold a digital nomad visa from another country. Your bank balance must average at least USD 10,000 a month over the last six months.
How long can I stay on the Taiwan digital nomad visa?
Up to six months, from the launch announcement on a Taiwan mission site. The Bureau page does not give the length.
How much does the Taiwan digital nomad visa cost?
The Bureau page does not give a fee for this visa. It points to its standard fee table. For other passports a single entry visitor visa is NT$1,600 (US$50) and a multiple entry one is NT$3,200 (US$100). US passport holders pay more. The page does not say which applies. The fee is not refunded.
Who can apply for the Taiwan digital nomad visa?
Open only to citizens of the 65 countries listed below. Foreign professionals who work remotely and do not serve employers or businesses in Taiwan. You must work remotely and not provide services to employers or businesses in Taiwan. They are: Albania, Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Belize, Brunei, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Estonia, Eswatini, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Honduras, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kosovo, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Marshall Islands, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Norway, Oman, Palau, Paraguay, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, San Marino, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Tuvalu, United Kingdom, United States and Vatican City.
Can I work for companies in Taiwan?
You must work remotely and not provide services to employers or businesses in Taiwan.
How do I apply?
At a Taiwan overseas mission if you are outside Taiwan. If you are already in Taiwan, apply to the Bureau of Consular Affairs or a Ministry of Foreign Affairs office in Taiwan, 10 working days before your stay ends.
