More than USD 24,000 a year for tech roles. More than USD 60,000 a year for non tech roles.
How long can I stay on the Malaysia digital nomad visa?
From 3 up to 12 months at first. Can be renewed for up to 12 more months, so 24 months in total.
How much does the Malaysia digital nomad visa cost?
Application fee of MYR 1,080 for you and MYR 540 for each dependant, including 8% sales and service tax. It is not refunded. You also pay an immigration pass fee of MYR 90 for every three months or MYR 360 for one year, and a multiple entry visa charge in some cases.
Who can apply for the Malaysia digital nomad visa?
Open to citizens of any other country. Foreign freelancers, contractors and remote workers in tech and non tech jobs. Remote workers must be employed by a company that is not registered in Malaysia. Remote workers must be employed by a company not registered in Malaysia. Freelancers work for foreign clients and may also serve Malaysian clients.
Can I bring my family?
Your spouse or partner, children under 18, a disabled child of any age, and your parents can join you. A spouse cannot work on this pass.

How do I apply?
Online at mdec.my/derantau. You do not need to be in Malaysia to apply. Six to eight weeks once your application is complete. The e-Pass is issued within one week of the endorsement application.
