What do I need for the Croatia student visa?
The official page asks for: proof of study at a Croatian university, health insurance, valid passport, criminal record certificate and money for the trip home, as well as the money to live on.
How much money do I need for the Croatia student visa?
Proof of a scholarship, or at least 25% of last year's average monthly net pay for each month (the 2025 average was EUR 1,449). You also need money to go home of at least 60% of that average pay.
Can I work while I study in Croatia?
Students can work, employed or self-employed, up to 20 hours a week without a stay and work permit, unless an internship is part of the course.
Can I stay in Croatia after I graduate?
Graduates with a Croatian higher education qualification can get up to 1 year, with no extension, to look for work or start a business (Aliens Act 2020, official English text).
How long can I stay on the Croatia student visa?
Temporary stay is granted for up to 1 year. Yes, you apply to extend it through a police administration or police station before it ends.
How much does the Croatia student visa cost?
In Croatia: EUR 46.45 for temporary stay, EUR 31.85 for the residence card (EUR 59.73 fast track) and EUR 9.29 card issue fee. Embassy fees are not listed.
Who can apply for the Croatia student visa?
Open to people from outside the EU, the EEA and Switzerland. People from outside the EEA who come to study at a Croatian university at undergraduate, graduate or postgraduate level.
How do I apply?
At a Croatian embassy or consulate; students who need a visa may also apply at a police administration or police station in Croatia.
