What do I need for the Ireland student visa?
The official page asks for: letter of acceptance for an ILEP course, proof of fee payment, private medical insurance, evidence of English (or Irish) ability, evidence of academic ability and bank statements for the last 6 months, as well as the money to live on.
How much money do I need for the Ireland student visa?
Immediate access to at least EUR 10,000 for each year, on top of fees. For stays of 8 months or less, EUR 833 a month or EUR 6,665. Visa-free nationals show this when they register.
Do I need to pay tuition before I apply?
Fees under EUR 6,000 must be paid in full; above that, you pay at least EUR 6,000 before you apply.
Can I work while I study in Ireland?
Up to 20 hours a week in term time. Up to 40 hours a week in June, July, August and September, and from 15 December to 15 January.
Can I stay in Ireland after I graduate?
Graduates with an Irish level 8 award can stay 12 months to look for work; level 9 or above can get up to 24 months in two blocks of 12.
Can I get a Ireland student visa for a language course?
Yes. English language courses: at least 25 weeks, 15 hours a week, 85% attendance and an end exam.
How long can I stay on the Ireland student visa?
English language students get up to 8 months at a time; the pages do not give a fixed first permission length for degree students. Yes, with proof of progress or exam results; English language study is capped at 3 permissions of 8 months (2 years), and student time at 7 years in total.
How much does the Ireland student visa cost?
EUR 60 for a single-entry visa or EUR 100 for a multi-entry visa, plus EUR 300 to register your permission.
Who can apply for the Ireland student visa?
Open to people from outside the EU, the EEA and Switzerland. For non-EEA and non-Swiss nationals enrolled on a full-time course on the Interim List of Eligible Programmes (ILEP) for more than 90 days.
Can I bring my family?
Students are normally not allowed to bring family members, except in very exceptional cases.
How do I apply?
Apply online through AVATS from your home country or where you live legally, then send your documents to the visa office; register in Ireland after you arrive. About 8 weeks from when the visa office receives the application.
