What do I need for the Hungary student visa?
The official page asks for: certificate of admission from the school or university, proof of language skills for the course, proof of tuition fee payment, health insurance, a real Hungarian address on the form and ticket or money for the trip home, as well as the money to live on.
How much money do I need for the Hungary student visa?
Proof that you can pay for living costs, housing, the trip home and health care, for example a bank statement, a family member's notarised support pledge, an income document or a scholarship. The page gives no figure.
Do I need to pay tuition before I apply?
The application must include proof that you paid the tuition fees.
Can I work while I study in Hungary?
Up to 30 hours a week during the study period. Outside the study period you can work full time for up to 90 days a year.
Can I stay in Hungary after I graduate?
If you finish your studies while your student permit is still valid, you can get this permit for up to 9 months, with no extension, for a job or business that fits your level of study.
How long can I stay on the Hungary student visa?
The first permit lasts at least 1 year (or the length of a shorter course) and at most 3 years, and not longer than your passport. Yes, for 1 to 3 years at a time, only from inside Hungary through Enter Hungary, 90 to 30 days before it ends.
How much does the Hungary student visa cost?
EUR 110 for the permit and entry visa at an embassy; HUF 39,000 in person in Hungary or HUF 26,000 through Enter Hungary.
Who can apply for the Hungary student visa?
Open to people from outside the EU, the EEA and Switzerland. People from outside the EEA who study full time at a state-recognised Hungarian university, a foreign university allowed to work in Hungary, or a full-time school. You need the language skills for the course.
Can I bring my family?
Family members cannot get a family reunification permit on the back of a study permit, except a child born in Hungary during the permit.
How do I apply?
At a Hungarian embassy or consulate in your country of nationality or residence; people who can enter Hungary visa-free may apply in Hungary online through Enter Hungary or in person. A decision within 60 days of the application.
