DKK 7,426 a month(2026 level) for each month of study. If you study more than a year, you show 12 months, so at most DKK 89,112. The money must be in your own name, or come from a grant or student loan. About USD 1,110 a month at ECB rates on 9 Oct 2026.

If you have already paid tuition for the first semester, this counts as proof that you have enough money.
First stay
Length of courseThe permit lasts for the standard (nominal) length of your programme, as long as you take an active part in it.
Renewal
If you do not finish in time, you can extend the permit by up to 1 year (2 years if the delay is due to pregnancy or parental leave).
Work while you study
90 hours a monthYou may work 90 hours a month from September to May and full time in June, July and August. Students in non-state-approved programmes who applied on or after 2 May 2025 may not work.

What do I need for the Denmark student visa?

The official page asks for: admission to a full-time higher education programme, language skills for the language of teaching, copy of all pages of your passport, receipt for the case processing fee, biometrics (photo and fingerprints) and parents' consent if you are under 18, as well as the money to live on.
