What do I need for the Malaysia student visa?
The official page asks for: offer letter from the institution, passport valid 18 months or more, health Declaration Form, academic certificates and transcripts, english test result (for example IELTS, TOEFL, MUET) and health insurance for the whole study period, as well as the money to live on.
How much money do I need for the Malaysia student visa?
The official pages set no figure for living costs. The school must give Immigration a personal bond for you, and you pay this money to the school; it is returned when you finish.
Can I work while I study in Malaysia?
Only in semester breaks or holidays of more than 7 days, up to 20 hours a week, in restaurants, petrol kiosks, minimarkets, hotels or on campus. Immigration must approve it first, through your school.
Can I stay in Malaysia after I graduate?
Bachelor's or higher graduates from 32 listed countries can stay 1 year after graduating and work in permitted sectors without an employer sponsor. A Malaysian sponsor earning at least RM1,500 a month is needed.
How long can I stay on the Malaysia student visa?
The Student Pass is usually issued for up to 1 year at a time. Yes. Renew before it ends, ideally 3 months before. You need a CGPA of 2.0 and 80% attendance, or a letter from your school.
How much does the Malaysia student visa cost?
MYR 159 for the eVAL and MYR 60 for the Student Pass, plus medical screening (MYR 250 to 350), the i-Kad (MYR 50), a multiple entry visa (about MYR 20) and health insurance. 8% service tax applies to processing fees.
Who can apply for the Malaysia student visa?
Open to citizens of any other country. International students who have accepted an offer for full-time study at an approved school in Malaysia.
Can I bring my family?
Postgraduate students can bring family on Dependant Passes. Bachelor's students can only if they are from listed countries, mostly in the Middle East.
How do I apply?
Online through EMGS (website or EMGS HUB app), or through your school, after you accept the offer. You enter Malaysia only after the eVAL is issued. EMGS aims for 14 working days for a complete application.
