What do I need for the Germany student visa?
The official page asks for: admission letter from a German university or Studienkolleg, health insurance, language proof, if the university did not check it, motivation letter and CV and passport valid 3 months past the planned stay, as well as the money to live on.
How much money do I need for the Germany student visa?
At least EUR 992 a month, so at least EUR 11,904 for the first year, shown at the time of applying. A blocked account, a scholarship or a formal pledge from a sponsor can be used. People still waiting for a university place (study applicants) need EUR 1,091 a month.
Can I work while I study in Germany?
Up to 140 working days a year. In term time, a week of up to 20 hours counts as two and a half days, and student assistant jobs do not count.
Can I stay in Germany after I graduate?
After a degree in Germany, graduates get a permit for up to 18 months to look for a job, if they can support themselves.
Can I get a Germany student visa for a language course?
Yes. A separate permit exists for language courses that are not study preparation (section 16f); it allows work of up to 20 hours a week.
How long can I stay on the Germany student visa?
The first permit is usually for two years and at least one year. If the course is shorter than two years, the permit only covers the course. Yes. It is extended if the study is not finished yet and can still be finished in a fair time.
How much does the Germany student visa cost?
The visa fee is EUR 75, paid in local money at some missions.
Who can apply for the Germany student visa?
Open to people from outside the EU, the EEA and Switzerland. People from outside the EU, EEA and Switzerland who have a place for full-time study at a state or state-recognised university or a similar school in Germany.
How do I apply?
At the German embassy or consulate for your country; many missions now take study visa applications only through the online Consular Services Portal (Auslandsportal). Set by each mission. The embassy in Dhaka says at least about 4 weeks.
