Does the New Zealand golden visa lead to permanent residence?
The visa is a resident visa, so you can live in New Zealand indefinitely from the start. After 3 years (Growth) or 5 years (Balanced), once you have met the conditions and had them removed, you can apply for a Permanent Resident Visa.
How long does the New Zealand golden visa last?
You can stay indefinitely. Your travel rights as a resident last 4 years (Growth) or 6 years (Balanced) from your first day in New Zealand. No renewal. At the end of the investment period you can apply for a Permanent Resident Visa.

Online with Immigration New Zealand. Immigration New Zealand says 80% of applications get approval in principle within 11 weeks.
